TIMING BELT
 
As the global market leader in timing belts, DAYCO innovation revolutionizing power transmissions. That`s why, manufacturers the world over fit million of engines of every size with DAYCO timing belts.
 
DAYCO belts feature self-lubricating fabric, specialized fiberglass or hybrid cord, an uniquely developed rubber compound for operation, long life, and high durability and abrasion resistance.
 
Timing belts are designed both for applications in diesel and petrol engines, and are fitted both on motorcars and industrial vehicles.
With the use of new materials, the belts can be made in various structures and tooth profiles, to guarantee the performance of modern vehicles.
Nowadays, belts are subject to stresses and working conditions than seemed impossible only a few years ago:
·    High fuel injection pressure, which can reach up to 2000 bar in some applications.
·    Multi-valve engines: double camshaft with higher stresses
·    Engines with high power and operating temperatures over 120°C .
They should also guarantee:
·    Noise reduction.
·    Limited dimensional tolerances
·    Limited variation of the belt dimensions in operation
·    High resistance to cloth abrasion
·    Longer service life/mileage
Available structures:
·    Chloroprene: first generation belt, usually not subject to high stresses, such as temperatures over 70°C or high work loads.
·    HSN: structure characterised by its optimal resistance to high temperature up to 130°C and pulsing loads.
·    HT: the belt cloth is coated with a highly abrasion-resistant PTFE film, designed to reduce to a minimum the cloth wear on the lap and on the sides of the teeth. This structure guarantees the belt maximum service life on engines with high injection pressure. Available for TDI Audi and VW engines and on TDCi Ford, Dci Renault and JTDm Fiat.
 
PV BELT
Since inventing the PVK belt in the 1970s, DAYCO has continued it`s legacy of market leadership by developing highly engineered belts for a multitude of accessories drive applications. DAYCO`s flexible design and manufacturing strategy matches material to applications, utilizing the latest and the most advanced technologies.
Poly-V belts are designed for the auxiliary transmissions of motorcars, commercial vehicles, industrial vehicles, buses. The increasing number of accessories (air conditioning, power steering, alternators, water pumps, vacuum pumps, etc.) and the operating conditions with temperatures up to 130°C, have made it necessary to update the materials and the production technology.
 All DAYCO Poly-V belts are made in EPDM material (Ethylene-Propylene- Diene- Monomers) according to the latest standards required by the Automotive market, and guarantee resistance, reliability, quietness and a longer operating life.
The main features are:
  •  Flexibility for use on small diameter pulleys
  •  Dimensions allowing the use of a single belt for controlling several auxiliary components
  •  Power transmission, including with the back of the belt, in particular in case of “double rib”
  •  High operating temperature range to guarantee an increased life.
In line with the requirements of the Automotive sector, DAYCO has also developed for the Aftermarket the last generation Poly-V belts EPDM3, capable of transmitting a high work load on the last generation models, while keeping the system life constant.
Besides the traditional transmission systems with Poly-V belts and tensioners, DAYCO operates both in the original equipment and aftermarket sectors with elastic Poly-V belt designed for some engines with fixed centre distance and limited belt length. These belts do not require any external tensioning system (tensioners).
The installation requires special tools that allow to stretch and properly position the belt on the pulleys.
 Available for Fiat, Alfa, Peugeot, Citroen, Ford and Volvo engines.

Available in the following types: AV10 – AV13 – AV17. Made with high quality material that provide:
·    Optimal resistance to repeated flexions

TENSIONERS
DAYCO offers a complete line of single- and double- eccentric mechanical timing belt tensioners. These tensioner are optimized for each application and consider specific driving behaviour to ensure a lifetime a smooth operation.
As a major global PV tensioner manufacturer, DAYCO leverage 35 years of tensioner experience to optimize customer value and satisfy unique operating environments for the right selection of materials, constructions, spring type, spring torque and rate, damping level and type, robust alignement, offset, arm length, wipe-sweeping arm travel, tight packaging and more. The result is highly efficient, quiet and durable tensioner that matches the required application performace level. This tensioners, in combination with our dampers, belts, friction wheel clutches, isolator and other components, work in concert in the system level so that DAYCO technology reduces vibration and friction, which lead to more efficient and greener accessory drive.
The increasing performance of engines and the growing number of auxiliary units have required significant developments in the design and choice of materials for all rigid components.
The timing and auxiliary control components, both with fixed and automatic tensioning, must fulfil the manufacturers' requirements, among which:
·    Increasingly reduced working spaces
·    High injection pressures
·    High temperatures
·    High stresses
·    Increased interval for component replacement
This implies that both the system tensioners (fixed and automatic) and pulleys must fulfil very high quality requirements.
The main types of rigid components are:
·    fixed tensioners  The final tension on the belt is applied on assembly and remains constant over time. The belt tension is therefore determined when it is assembled. In these cases, the use of the DTM Tensiometer is advised.
·   automatic tensioner,  spring-loaded or hydraulic. These are dynamic tensioners which, once they are installed, can adapt to and improve the belt tensioning according to the engine stress, in any operating condition.
·   guide-pulleys: these pulleys, with or without bracket, allow the correct guiding of the belt in its route. They are very important as they support part of the system stresses.
DAYCO supplies components of original quality or equivalent to the original for its own range, both for motorcars and industrial vehicles.
